Gov. Christie does something sane.

Many of you know of my disdain for Gov. Christie, especially for his budgeting ideas and his union hating speeches. However, I have to praise for something he did right. A week ago Christie stood up to the crazies that think Muslim Americans shouldn't be judges for the sole reason that Muslim judges might practice Sharia law. I know it's nuts, you know it's nuts & Christie knows it's nuts - but it's good to see someone from the GOP actually standing up for someone's religious beliefs when that religion isn't a form of Christianity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y83z552NJaw

Bachman calls gays "Barbarians that need to be educated"

Marcus Bachman, the husband of Michelle Bachman and self-proclaimed strategist has been quoted as saying:

"We have to understand: barbarians need to be educated. They need to be disciplined. Just because someone feels it or thinks it doesn’t mean that we are supposed to go down that road. "

Bachman has a faith-based counseling center meant to "un-gay the barbarians". So why does Marcus hate gays so much? Well, if you watch the clip below - you might think, as I do, that he is a self-depreciating closeted homosexual that hasn't come to terms with his own sexuality.

Change to Win

It's still puzzling to me that so many Americans vote against their best interests.
If we don't fix the disparity between the middle class and the super rich, we can easily end up being just like other 3rd world countries. It's time to stand up, and tell corporations that they can't run the country more. Stand up and tell Congress that tax cuts for the rich doesn't stimulate the economy, it simply puts a drain on the rest of us.

A republican understanding immigration?

Bloomberg seems to get it. I don't see why other members of the GOP are so hard-headed.

“We will not remain a global superpower if we continue to close our doors to people who want to come here to work hard, start businesses, and pursue “The American dream cannot survive if we keep telling the dreamers to go elsewhere. It’s what I call national suicide – and that’s not hyperbole. Every day that we fail to fix our broken immigration laws is a day that we inflict a wound on our economy" --Mayor Bloomberg

He's absolutely right. If we don't make it easier for people to legally immigrate then we'll only have non-tax paying illegals instead of qualified individuals that make this country great. Perhaps the GOP forget what is written on the tablets of the Statue of Liberty. Let me refresh your memory:

Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!

NJ Gov. Chris Christie tells voter to "it’s none of your business"

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie sat down with Steve Adubato for a special live call-in show. A voter, Gail, asked him how he could feel comfortable cutting so much public school funding, when his own children do not go to public school. The resulting answer from our NJ Governor was anything but civil.

It's important to note that in March Superior Court Judge Peter Doyne ruled that the nearly $1 billion in cuts that Gov. Christie cut to public schools unable to meet its educational obligations to more than one million children
